BCI Pharma developed highly potent, selective kinase inhibitors from its proprietary chemical libraries. Its lead focus was neuropathic pain, with further programmes in cancer and neuroinflammation. Its model was to partner with larger pharmaceutical companies at an early stage to co-develop its molecules. In 2024, the company was acquired by Hungarian pharmaceutical group Gedeon Richter.
