The company
Lys Therapeutics develops first-in-class antibodies for neurodegenerative and neurovascular diseases. Its lead candidate, LYS241, blocks the harmful interaction between the enzyme tPA and NMDA receptors on blood vessel walls, an interaction that breaks down the blood-brain barrier and fuels neuroinflammation. Acting from within the blood vessels, it is being advanced towards the clinic in Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy and acute ischaemic stroke.
